The Schweppes Mixer brand was actively differentiating itself from the typical snooty bar cocktail culture. Instead it encouraged its customer to mix cocktails at home, to dispense with the rules, and to use whatever they had available - be that a jam jar for a glass, a garden flower for a garnish or to use a rolling pin as a muddler.
